Sex Equality in the Education Program
The district prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program or activity except when it is necessary to accomplish a specific purpose that does not impinge upon essential equality or fairness in the treatment of students or employees.† Employees are required to comply with this policy and the subsequent rules and regulations, as well as with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the regulations of the U.S. Department of Education as applicable to this district.
The superintendent shall designate an administrator to administer, coordinate, and publish this policy, together with any rules and regulations, to all students, parents, and other interested groups and associations.† The superintendent shall develop a grievance procedure whereby persons who believe they are being discriminated against may seek relief.† The superintendent shall report annually to the board of education on the districtís compliance with this policy and shall recommend such changes as he or she deems necessary.
