A teacher who is called to military service or who volunteers for military service because of presumptive evidence that he or she will be called and who has been in the employment of the district, may upon his or her request, be granted a military leave without pay. Such teacher shall keep the board informed on the probable date of his release from service and he or she will be re-employed by the district at the beginning of the semester following his or her release from service.
